Ця стаття узагальнює аргументи та контраргументи в межах наукової дискусії з питання складності прийняття рішень в будь-якій сфері діяльності. Основною метою проведеного дослідження є узагальнення теоретичних основ та методологічних аспектів прийняття рішень суб’єктами економічної діяльності. Систематизація літературних джерел та підходів до вирішення проблеми прийняття рішень засвідчила, що в основі економіки та інших суспільних наук, завжди лежить теорія актора, яка визначає основні характеристики суб’єктів, через дії яких породжуються колективні явища соціально-економічного характеру. Серед цих особливостей найбільш актуальними є ті, які пояснюють основні засади поведінки актора: чому він діє певним чином; які принципи керують чи характеризують його рішення. Актуальність вирішення даної наукової проблеми полягає в тому, що кожна дія прямо чи опосередковано належить до теорії розуму, яка являє собою сукупність причинних змінних, які відповідають за генерування ідей. На основі теоретичного аналізу в статті зроблено висновок, що з огляду на те, що економічна теорія вивчає мотивацію та поведінку споживачів, більшість дій на ринках регулюється «раціональною» поведінкою людини, а ринкові умови мають тенденцію до покарання за нераціональну поведінку. В статті на основі дослідження теорії вибору в економіці автором запропоновано підхід до виокремлення різних типів вибору. Автором доведено, що критика щодо дійсності поведінки індивіда відкриває шлях до пошуку нових альтернатив. Аналіз найбільших відкриттів в галузі медицини засвідчив, що більшість рішень приймаються не на раціоналістичній основі, а на несвідомому рівні. Дослідження теоретично доводить, що якщо рішення не є результатом раціональності, людина повинна замислитись над тим, що основна проблема вибору виникає внаслідок психічного програмування, яке призводить до викривлення інформації. А інформація в свою чергу відіграє вирішальну роль у житті людини, бо впливає на вибір та прийняття життєво важливих рішень.
