Забезпечення стабільного та надійного фінансового забезпечення малого та середнього бізнесу залишається до цього часу невирішеним питанням внаслідок характерної для таких підприємств системи фінансового обліку та низької вартості застави, в деяких випадках її відсутності. Основною метою дослідження є визначення впливу фінансового стану та розвитку комерційних банків на діяльність малого та середнього підприємництва (МСП) в Нігерії. Дана робота націлена на: визначення якості та рівня розвитку системи обліку МСП; дослідження залежності фінансування МСП від організованої системи ведення бухгалтерського обліку на підприємствах та від вартості застави таких економічних суб’єктів. Періодом дослідження обрано роки з 2010 по 2017 р. Методичний інструментарій дослідження включає метод найменших квадратів (для аналізу даних, отриманих з первинних та вторинних джерел). Дослідження емпірично підтверджує та теоретично доводить, що: ефективна організація практики ведення бухгалтерського обліку позитивно корелює з розширенням можливостей отримання додаткового фінансування для МСП з боку комерційних банків; підвищення якості та вартості застави МСП сприяє зростанню кредитоспроможності підприємств та довіри до них банків як до позичальників. За результатами дослідження для менеджмента МСП розроблено наступні пропозиції: встановлення надійної системи внутрішнього контролю; забезпечення реалізації бухгалтерської практики, що відповідає міжнародним стандартам бухгалтерського обліку, що підвищить інтерес з боку інвесторів та розширить масштаби додаткових фінансових вкладень; інвестування МСП частини свого капіталу в необоротні активи, що сприятиме зростанню вартості застави та додатковому залученню кредитних ресурсів комерційних банків.
